A free and low-cost walk-in vaccine clinic is set for June 8 at Española Humane.

Altered pets of residents in Rio Arriba and Santa Fe counties will receive free vaccinations thanks to Petco Love’s national vaccination initiative. The event will be held at the shelter’s clinic, 108 Hamm Parkway, Española, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, June 8. No appointment is necessary. All dogs must be on a leash, and all cats must be in carriers.

Vaccines for unaltered pets are $20 each.

Vaccines distributed through the Petco Love initiative include DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines. Rabies vaccines are also available through Espanola Humane’s generous donors – free for altered pets; $20 for unaltered pets. Vaccines for pets outside of Santa Fe and Rio Arriba counties are $20 each.

The series of free and low-cost vaccination clinics aim to keep pets healthy in the community. Petco Love’s national vaccination initiative provides 1 million free pet vaccines to its existing animal welfare partners, including Española Humane.

Parvovirus, distemper in dogs, and panleukopenia in cats are some of the most prevalent deadly diseases impacting pets that are preventable with a simple vaccine.
