Year End Stats Show Growth, More Services Provided to Community

Shelter intakes increased slightly over 2015 for a total intake of 2, 844, with 156 more animals coming through our doors in 2016. Adoptions saw a decrease of 13% over the previous year, which we can attribute to the success of the transfer program, fewer adoptions in the mobile program, and increase in feral cat intake. In 2016, our foster program served 884 animals, over 100 more than the previous year, due to a big push during the trainings and on social media for more special-needs foster homes for animals with medical and behavioral issues. 58 special-needs animals found the space and time needed to recover and thrive in loving foster homes.
